CALL: The 7th Annual Toronto Urban Film Festival (TUFF)

Submit your silent, one-minute film to TUFF, Toronto’s subway film festival.
The 7th annual Toronto Urban Film Festival (TUFF) returns September 6 - 16, 2013 to subway screens across Toronto. Submit your one-minute film by June 15th and skip the $20 entry fee. Final deadline is July 15, 2013.
The TUFF call for submissions is open to Canadian and international filmmakers and accepts all genres of silent, one-minute film, video, and animation of interest to an urban audience. Selected films are eligible for cash prizes and awards.
TUFF runs concurrent with the Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF). TUFF films screen at 10-minute intervals on over 300 overhead digital platform screens across the Toronto subway system and at special “Film Zones” located at key downtown stations. The audience includes over one million commuters who take the Toronto subway daily.
This year’s Guest Judge is Canadian indie filmmaker, Bruce McDonald, auteur of such feature films as:Highway 61 (1991), Dance Me Outside (1994), Hard Core Logo (1996), Picture Claire (2001) and Pontypool (2008). McDonald will select the top three films of the festival as well as the winner of the Naish McHugh Award for Emerging Filmmakers, a $2,500 cash award presented by the City of Toronto. He will be assisted in his selection by returning TUFF programmer, Angie Driscoll.
